Skotijas policija atļauj papildināt uniformu ar hidžabu
25.08.2016Lai iedrošinātu etniskās minoritātes pievienoties likumsargu rindām, Skotijas policija šonedēļ atļāvusi valkāt hidžabu pie uniformas.
Londonas policija jau 2001.gadā atļāva musulmaņu sievietēm darba laikā valkāt hidžabu pie uniformas, ja viņas to vēlas.
Līdzīgu lēmumu pieņēmusi arī policija Anglijas vidienē un ziemeļos, un citur Lielbritānijā.
«Tāpat kā citi darba devēji, sevišķi sabiedriskajā sektorā, mēs strādājam pie tā, lai nodrošinātu, ka mūsu pakalpojums reprezentē kopienas, kurām mēs kalpojam,» paziņoja Skotijas policijas priekšnieks. Es ceru, ka šis papildinājums mūsu uniformai palīdzēs padarīt mūsu darbinieku sastāvu daudzveidīgāku,» viņš piebilda.
«Tāpat kā citi darba devēji, sevišķi sabiedriskajā sektorā, mēs strādājam pie tā, lai nodrošinātu, ka mūsu pakalpojums reprezentē kopienas, kurām mēs kalpojam,» paziņoja Skotijas policijas priekšnieks. Es ceru, ka šis papildinājums mūsu uniformai palīdzēs padarīt mūsu darbinieku sastāvu daudzveidīgāku,» viņš piebilda.
Skotijas policija šogad atklāja, ka tikai 127 no 4809 pieteikumiem pievienoties policijas spēkiem jeb 2,5% saņemti no cilvēkiem ar etniskās minoritātes saknēm.
Etniskās minoritātes, kas lielākoties nākušas no Āzijas dienvidiem, veido aptuveni 4% no Skotijas iedzīvotāju skaita.
